Approach

How we do it

Dimension’s clean energy projects are built to meet the needs of the community. From project initiation and development, to ongoing management, through the eventual decommissioning process, community input and impacts are the keys to making clean energy work for everyone. Once operational, our projects deliver guaranteed savings for local subscribers with no fees, no long-term commitments, and most importantly, no catches.

Policy Development
As states evolve their energy policies, our team brings its expertise to the table to help shape programs that ensure clean energy works for everyone. Community solar can and should deliver value for all utility customers and stakeholders. Driving policy that achieves this is our focus from day one.
Land Acquisition
Landowner participation is critical to community solar programs. Dimension looks at existing distribution grid infrastructure to inform project siting and support greater grid resiliency. We work alongside landowners to ensure their involvement throughout the project development process.
Partnership Outreach
We seek out foundational partners who see the benefits our projects can bring to local communities. Strong coalitions can invigorate policy advocacy campaigns and increase support for community solar in each market. Our foundational partners also help ensure Dimension understands community priorities from day one.

Dimension Energy’s projects provide an alternative revenue stream for our landowners for the long-term use of their properties.”

Permits
With community solar legislation on the books, Dimension begins the work of building solar projects that fit seamlessly into the community. Our team is on the ground to navigate the permitting and interconnection process with local officials and utilities, working with subject matter experts to ensure the responsible development and stewardship of land and wildlife.
Construction
We hire locally-based, best-in-class construction partners who share our values and can safely deliver our projects on schedule and on budget. Our construction partners also help connect our workforce development trainees with their first jobs in the solar industry, ensuring that Dimension's projects create opportunities for broader participation in the energy transition.
"
Safety cannot just be a priority because priorities will change. At Dimension, safety is a value.”

Community Partnership
We team up with trusted regional entities to train and hire local talent, identify customers left underserved by traditional solar options, and educate residents about community solar. In exchange for helping deliver the local engagement critical to project success, Dimension gives back to our partner organizations through grant making and scholarship programs. Partnering with Dimension is a true win-win-win.
Workforce Development
As our nation faces a skilled labor shortage, Dimension is investing significantly in workforce development via training programs at local non-profits, high schools, community colleges, and adult education centers, concentrating our efforts in the communities that host our projects. We then work hard to create direct employment opportunities for trainees on our projects.
Subscriber Acquisition
We work with local partners to enroll households that stand to benefit the most from Dimension’s community solar projects. In many cases our customers qualify as low-income and reside in neighborhoods that have lacked access to rooftop solar options. Trusted local partners help us reassure customers that our offer is real and not “too good to be true."
"
Community solar creates jobs. We work very closely with local labor force on every project we do."

Vice President of Operations

Relationships
Once a Dimension project is electrified, we stay engaged with landowners, local government, utilities, and community partners for the life of the project. We ensure every project stays fully subscribed, landowners are properly compensated, and community partners are well-resourced.
Site Management
As the owner and operator of our projects, Dimension proactively monitors and maintains our facilities to ensure optimal site performance, safety, and land preservation. This includes locally-sourced agrivoltaics such as sheep grazing and pollinator species.
Decomissioning
At the end of a project’s life, we take pride in restoring sites to the way we found them. We put bonds in place to ensure all costs for the removal of the system and the refurbishment of the site are fully covered. Dimension is committed to no long-term impacts to host land and buildings.
"
Our clean energy projects work for everyone because we commit to our landowners, partners, and communities for the duration of each project."

Vice President of Asset Management
